What a bummer! A recession! Can anything good come from slowed economic times? Maybe a slower pace of life, a renewed interest in family and return to handmade gifts and learning arts and crafts of the past is in order for the duration!
Liz Beth's has been contacting known local artisans and discussing ways to save the knowledge of so many skills and crafts of our forebears: quilting, embroidery, tatting, calligraphy, drawing, painting, sewing, model building, clay sculpture, wire sculpture, woodworking, leather crafting, beading, jewelry making, glass-blowing...you know: arts & crafts! Many are interested in teaching classes to young and old in order to preserve some of those crafts in danger of becoming extinct.
